Monroe County incidents
State police at the Stroudsburg barracks reported the following:
• Chyna T. North, 23, of Pocono Summit, was cited for following too closely after a crash at 8:14 a.m. Feb. 8 on Route 209 in Hamilton Township.
Police said she was driving a 2019 Nissan Altima that was involved in a crash with a 2019 Ford operated by Stacy L. Hildabrant, 64, of Saylorsburg.
No one was injured in the incident.
• Corey J. Counterman, 30, of Saylorsburg, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol of a controlled substance after a one-vehicle crash at 4:43 p.m. Jan. 20 on Interstate 80 in Stroud Township.
Police said he was driving a 2019 Chevrolet Impala eastbound when he lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons. It traveled southeast toward a guide rail, did a 180-degree turn and hit the south guide rail.
The vehicle had disabling damages and was towed from the scene.
• Hollis S. Edwards, 36, of Bartonsville, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 12:12 a.m. Jan. 6 on Marshalls Creek Road, Middle Smithfield Township.
Police said he was transported by personnel from the Bushkill Emergency Corps to the St. Luke’s Medical Center.
Police said he was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado that swerved off the roadway and struck a tree.
• Four people were transported by personnel from the Lehigh Valley EMS corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg, after a one-vehicle crash at 7:41 p.m. Feb. 10 on Sunset Drive, Hamilton Township.
They included Xiara A. Rios, 19, Mariangelie Merced, 26, and two 1-year-old girls, all of Bethlehem. Police said Mariangelie suffered a right leg injury while the other three occupants of the vehicle were transported to the hospital for precautionary reasons.
The crash occurred when Rios was driving a 2018 Hyundai Sonata westbound when it entered a left-hand turn, left the right shoulder of the road, traveled through a grassy area, and struck two trees. The car was towed from the scene, police said.
Rios was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.
• A 58-year-old Cresco woman was bitten by a Rottweiler belonging to her neighbor in an incident at 12:28 a.m. Jan. 22.
Police said it happened on Grouse Run in Paradise Township. They said the victim requested they not cite the dog owner.
• Lashawn Sanders, 33, of Hazleton, was cited for harassment by physical contact after police were called to an incident at 12:01 a.m. Feb. 9 at Muller’s Diner, Middle Smithfield Township.
Police said the victim told them Sanders punched her in the head with a closed fist.
• A 69-year old man and a 66-year-old woman, both from East Stroudsburg, were cited for harassment after police were called to a dispute between neighbors.
It happened at 2:47 p.m. Feb. 8 on Schoolhouse Road, Price Township.
• Police charged a 44-year-old man from Palmyra with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after they were called to a disturbance at the Baymont Inn, Turtle Walk Lane, Hamilton Township.
• Police are investigating the theft of a 2016 white utility trailer from a parking lot off Manor Drive, Hamilton Township.
The owner, a 49-year-old man from Stroudsburg, told police the vehicle was taken from the parking lot of a nearby gas station.
