The Lehighton girls basketball and wrestling teams closed out their regular seasons with wins on Monday. Marian’s girls basketball team also secured a win in its regular season finale.
The Indians’ victory over Panther Valley, combined with Blue Mountain’s win over Tamaqua, has forced a tiebreaker game between the Panthers and Blue Raiders for the final Schuylkill League Division 1 girls basketball wildcard spot. The playoff will take place on Thursday at Lehighton at 6 p.m.

Lehighton-Panther Valley
Lehighton closed out Schuylkill League play with a 44-36 victory over Panther Valley.
The Indians (12-10, 7-7) were paced by the duo of Charli McHugh and Emma Repsher, as both tied for a team-high with 12 points apiece. Ryleigh Trotman chipped in 11.
Maddison Maynard led all scorers with a 16-point performance for the Panthers (14-8 overall; 8-6 SL), while Morgan Orsulak scored eight.

Marian rebounded from a weekend loss to score a 45-30 victory over Mahanoy Area in Schuylkill League play.
Trailing by three points after a quarter of play, the Fillies caught fire in the second period and turned up the defense to take a 23-13 lead into halftime.
Carly Minchhoff netted seven of her game-high 15 points in the second quarter for the Fillies (19-3 overall; 12-1 SL), while Aliya Tikhtova posted nine of her 11 points after the half.
Felicia Bro led the way for the Golden Bears (8-13; 6-7) with 12 points.

Lehighton bounced back from a loss at Saturday’s District 11 Duals with a 49-20 non-league win over Southern Lehigh.
The Indians rattled off five wins in the first six bouts to build a comfortable 19-4 lead over the host Spartans, with Michael D’Amico (107), Jacob Hall (127) and Evan Wentz (139) all recording pins.
Jacob Ferguson (160), Brok Solt (172), Asher Taylor (189) and Reese Balk (285) also had pins for the Tribe.
