Federal prison inmate gets 6 months for having a ‘shank’

Tyrell Lockhart, 26, a federal inmate at FCI Schuylkill, was sentenced to six months in prison in a federal court this week for possession of contraband in prison, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

According to U.S. Attorney Gerard M. Karam, in July of 2023, a corrections officer observed Lockhart in his cell where, after a search, the officer discovered that Lockhart was concealing a homemade knife, commonly referred to as a “shank.”

Lockhard was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Malachy E. Mannion.
