Tamaqua woman trespasses for seventh time, police say

Judith Vacula, 52, Tamaqua, tallied her sixth and seventh arrests for defiant trespass at an East Broad Street property over the weekend, borough police said.

And on Tuesday, she was found back on the East Broad Street property and committed to the Schuylkill County Prison.

According to police, Vacula was on the property Friday, Saturday and Tuesday.

In the Friday incident, officers received a report of a white van parked on the 200 block of E. Broad Street around 4:30 p.m. Officers said Vacula was in the driver’s seat even though she had been told multiple times before to stay away from the property. Police said she told them that she owned the building and not the land, even though she was on the land and not in the building. Police said she gave them paperwork that she claimed was a lease agreement, however, police said the owner did not sign it. They again told Vacula that she did not have permission to be there.

Police reminded Vacula that she had been told numerous times to stay off the property by multiple judges, police officers and the current owners. They charged her with defiant trespass.

On Saturday, police spotted Vacula and her van at the property at 1:24 p.m. and told her she would be arrested again. Police said the van was parked with the rear to the building’s door, which was open. With her was a minor. Officers said it was unclear if they were taking items into or out of the building.

Police said she was on bail for a November trespassing charge at the same property.

On Tuesday, police said she returned to the property, was taken into custody and arraigned before Tamaqua Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer. She was unable to post $10,000 straight bail and transported county prison.

Police arrested Vacula for trespassing in February and November of 2021; March of 2022; and September and November of 2023.
