Palmerton has struck a collaboration with a learning institution to utilize its space as a government forum.
Borough council on Thursday approved the partnership with the Palmerton Area Library for a local government forum.
Before the vote, borough Manager Autumn Canfield explained the purpose of the affiliation between the two entities.
Canfield said the library seemed an obvious choice for the location of the forum.
Canfield said that while open communication and better transparency are important aspects, education is also a top priority.
“Local government with its various rules and regulations can be very confusing,” Canfield said. “I hope this will be a way to demystify some of the ‘why’ of our operations.”
