State Police at Fern Ridge said the CVS Store/Pharmacy in Brodheadsville was victimized by a counterfeiting incident that is under investigation.

They were summoned to the business at routes 115 and 209 in Chestnuthill Township at 4:44 p.m. Jan. 27 after two men used counterfeit U.S. currency to purchase five $100 Visa gift cards and other various items before fleeing the area in a white Chevrolet Suburban that had a New York registration plate on it.

The total loss is $600, police said.
