No one was injured in a small fire Wednesday morning in a Franklin Township home.
Township fire Chief Lynn Diehl said firefighters responded around 9 a.m. to a home at 102 Bear Drive.
“It seemed like sparks came out of the fire place and caught a carpet on fire,” Diehl said. “The homeowners put it out themselves.”
Diehl said there were no injuries, “just a lot of worked up people.”
He said firefighters were on scene for about 15 minutes.
Diehl said Lehighton, Parryville and Bowmanstown fire departments were called out but ended up being canceled.
He said the fire department was grateful for the help it received on both calls.
“We appreciated the guys coming out and doing an excellent job,” he said.
