State police at Fern Ridge
State police at Fern Ridge reported on several incidents:
• Police said they are conducting a death investigation after responding to a property at 19 Yana Lane, Albrightsville (Penn Forest Township) at 3:04 p.m. Dec. 12 for a report of an unresponsive man. Police found Jesse Xiong, 28, of Philadelphia, who was unresponsive. He was transported to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township, where he was pronounced deceased.
Police said following an autopsy that was performed on Dec. 14 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, the barracks’ criminal investigation unit is conducting the death investigation.
• Police are investigating a firearms violation that took place at 12:47 a.m. Dec. 21.
It happened on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township. The investigation is ongoing.
• Police said they received a ChildLine report at 1:58 p.m. Jan. 4 regarding an 11-year-old girl from Jim Thorpe. The report alerts police to concerns of endangerment to the girl within a residence on Ponderosa Road, Penn Forest Township.
• A 43-year-old Kunkletown man is facing theft charges involving a contractor incident on Grand Mesa Drive, Chestnuthill Township, Effort.
A 76-year-old man reported at 11:38 a.m. Jan. 16 that the man took $3,500 for work that was not performed.
• A crash involving a snow plow resulted in minor damages to the 2019 Dodge Ram 3500 truck and a 2024 Kia Soul.
Police said the Ram operator was plowing a parking lot off Marion Lane, Chestnuthill Township, at 7:53 a.m. Jan. 16 when it backed onto Marion Lane and the Soul struck it from behind.
Both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene.
• Police said a representative of the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office determined there was not sufficient evidence to charge a suspect who reportedly performed a strangulation act on Cascade Drive, Chestnuthill Township.
They said they were contacted at 8:05 p.m. Jan. 9 by a third party about an incident of domestic violence. Police said upon arrival and subsequent interviews of the suspect and victim, no injuries were observed or statements made by either party to support the domestic violence having taken place.
• Police said three rounds that were fired toward a home on Jackson Township struck the residence, with one projectile being found in an upstairs bedroom.
The resident on Five Strings Road, Jackson Township, Stroudsburg, reported the reckless endangerment incident at 1:31 p.m. Nov. 26.
• A 17-year-old girl from Blakeslee was cited after a two-vehicle crash at 3:56 p.m. Jan. 5 on Route 115 in Tobyhanna Township.
Police said she was driving a 2016 Honda Pilot westbound on Route 940, approaching the intersection with Route 115, when she failed to stop for a red light, entering the intersection where it was struck by a 2015 Honda Civic driven by Samantha N. Drayton, 32, of Wilkes-Barre. She was southbound at the time.
Police said Drayton sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported by personnel from the Pocono Mountain Regional Emergency Medical Services to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
