Weissport Borough Council took the following action this week:
                • Approved correction to the snow ordinance to match the posted signs. After 4 inches of snow, on an even-numbered day, parking is only on the even side of the street. On an odd-numbered day, parking only on the odd side of the street. The ordinance had the sides of the street listed incorrectly.
                • Approve the garbage ordinance, which updated the fees for garbage, rubbish, and ashes from borough residents beginning Jan. 1. For individual dwelling units the cost is $400 per year per unit. For 65 and older, the cost is $380/year. There are additional fees for businesses, rental properties, and apartments.
                • Approved ID Badges to be used for making authorized purchases at businesses. Cost is $70 for nine badges.
                • Council is seeking people to serve on the zoning hearing board. Borough Council members cannot serve on that board, so council is looking for volunteers. Call 610-377-5606 for more information.
                • Approved Aimee Shank, Weissport Secretary/Treasurer, take an online class, “PMPEI Class on Managing the Subdivision Review Process” on Feb. 8. It’s an online course, costing $25.
                • Motions on setting up a website and purchasing a document scanner were tabled pending further information.
