State police at Lehighton

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following:

• Police were called to a criminal mischief incident at 7:39 p.m. Dec. 19 at a property on Rolling Hills Road, Ross Township.

They said upon arrival the victim declined to prosecution in the incident.

• Police said the Penn Forest Garage, Jim Thorpe, is the victim of a “bad check” case that they were called to investigate.

They said a suspect provided the business, located on Bowman Road, Penn Forest Township, with a check for auto repair services done on a 2004 Chevrolet Trail Blazer and the check was deemed to be invalid for insufficient funds.

• Police were called to a terroristic threats incident at 12:21 a.m. Dec. 29 on West Water Street in Lansford.

They said the complainant related a group of young males attempted to gain access to the home but had left the scene before police arrived. Police said the suspects’ car, a 2023 Ford Explorer, was located about two blocks from the residence and thorough the investigation police learned the suspects were permitted to be at the residence by the property owner.

• Three Lansford residents were charged with harassment by physical contact after police were called at 6:24 p.m. Dec. 31 to a property on West Bertsch Street in Lansford.

They said a 19-year-old man, a 32-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman who are in a relationship were all cited after engaging in a physical altercation.

• A 46-year-old man from Plymouth was charged for driving under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance after a traffic stop police made at 8:21 p.m. Dec. 31 at the intersection of Lehigh Drive and Route 873 in Lehigh Township, Northampton County.

Police said he was driving a 2014 Dodge Challenger they stopped for violations of Title 75. It was determined he was under the influence to the extent he could not operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner.
