Palmerton has struck a new agreement with its police chief.
On a 5-0 vote at its reorganization meeting Tuesday, borough council approved an agreement with police Chief Tim Kromer.

Councilmen Andrew Hollywood and Randy Gursky were absent.
In February, council approved a one-year agreement with Kromer at a salary of $89,870.
That came after council in July 2022 granted Kromer a salary increase of $3,000 following his review.
Additionally, council at that time approved an increase in Kromer’s allowance for compensatory time from 40 hours to 50 hours until the end of the year.
