Coaldale police have issued a warrant for William Cannon, 25, of Coaldale, who fled from them on a dirt bike on Monday morning.

According to police, officers were on patrol around 8:53 a.m. when they saw Cannon driving a dirt bike with a passenger in the area of Third and Lehigh Streets. Police activated their vehicle’s lights and sirens and tried to stop Cannon but he continued on, failing to stop at a stop sign. Officers said he accelerated and didn’t stop at three more stop signs.

Police said Cannon was traveling at an excessive rate of speed, and they stopped their pursuit. He was last spotted traveling on High and Sixth streets.

Cannon faces charges of fleeing police, reckless endangerment, driving an unregistered vehicle, failing to stop at stop signs, careless driving, reckless driving and operation on streets and highways.
