NJ man cited for turnpike crash

Vicente Rodriguez, 58, of Port Reading, New Jersey, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a crash at 7 p.m. Dec. 15 on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

State police at the Pocono barracks said it happened on the north exit ramp to the Pocono Interchange in Kidder Township.

Police said he was driving a 2018 Freightliner Cascadia southbound at a speed greater than reasonable when he lost control on a left curve and struck an embankment and traffic sign.

The ramp was closed due to diesel fuel having been spilled onto the roadway.

Rodriguez was not injured.
