White Haven woman dies in I-80 crash

A 43-year-old White Haven woman died in a crash Wednesday morning on Interstate 80 eastbound in Dennison Township, according to police.

State police at Hazleton said Jessica LaBarge was pronounced dead at the scene, which is between mile marker 265 an d 266 on the interstate.

Police said the crash happened about 9:20 a.m. when LaBarge, driving a 2019 Toyota 4Runner, lost control of the vehicle. Police said it struck a guide rail on the right side of the roadway before traveling across both lanes and striking a guide rail on the left side of the roadway.

Police said LaBarge was ejected through the front passenger side window, with her body coming to rest partially underneath the vehicle, police said.

The eastbound lanes of the interstate were closed between the Mountain Top/Hazleton and White Haven/Freeland exits for an extended period of time.
