State police at Stroudsburg said a 66-year-old woman from East Stroudsburg is the victim of a theft by deception incident that they were called to at a property on Music Center Drive, Smithfield Township.

It happened between 4-6:32 p.m. Nov. 28. They said the victim received a pop-up notification on her computer advising her she needed to call a number to secure her computer. Police said the suspect had the victim transfer money via bitcoin. Stolen was $4,500, they said.

No arrest has been made in the case.
