2-3 inches rain today; snow possible Monday morning

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch through Monday afternoon and winter weather watch from midnight through noon Monday.

Moderate to heavy rain will spread into the area today through tonight. Storm total rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are forecast, with locally higher amounts near 4 inches possible. This excessive rainfall may lead to some

areas of flooding.

Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

Snow is expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 3 inches expected across the higher elevations, with locally higher amounts up to 5 inches possible above 1,800 feet elevation. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph.

Moderate to heavy rain will change over to snow after midnight early Monday morning. Light to moderate snow
