Rush-Ryan Seniors
Reminder to the Rush-Ryan-Delano Seniors that the next meeting will be Tuesday, Jan. 9 and that no brown bag lunch is needed until further notice.
Zion Lewistown
Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday at Zion Church Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
There will be a special dedication for the new organ Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. Organist Jonathan Boksan from Allen Organ will demonstrate the new organ’s capabilities and will play various Christmas selections.
Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Service is at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 24.

Calvary Lewistown
Pastor Kim will offer the message at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Calvary Evangelical Church, Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is schedules for 9:15 a.m. The Calvary Christmas Dinner and Party will immediately follow the worship service. For information call Sue at 570-668-3359. There will be no Sunday evening service. Prayer and share on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Next Sunday at the morning worship service will be the Sunday school Christmas program and the evening candlelight service will be at 6:30 p.m.
Tamaqua Seniors
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Nov. 30 with 23 members in attendance. The president opened the meeting with the reading “Spirit Of Christmas.” Karen Reed, Maryann Fisher, Pet Bednarik, Joan Camerini were added to the sick list. Guest, Effie Scobert was given a warm welcome and Brenda Zeller was the winner of Christmas decorations.
President Jean Machamer spoke about scams for Social Security and lock keys in car and keeping personal items and valuables out of sight. The group was urged to always be aware of your surroundings. The next meeting will be Dec. 21. There will be no meeting on Dec. 28. Anyone 55 and older is invited to join the group at 1 p.m. at the Coaldale Complex on Thursdays.
Andreas VFW
Andreas VFW Post 5069 will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at West Penn Annex.
Members are asked to help with the post Wreaths Across American project at Skyview Memorial Park on Dec. 16. Members can meet at Dunns Farmers Market at 10:30 a.m. and ride the shuttle to the park.
Food Pantry
American Primitive Methodist Church working in partnership with the Salvation Army will distribute food twice a month, the second Wednesday of each month from 2 to 5 p.m. and the third Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon and 4 to 5:30 p.m.
