Route 209 near Coaldale was closed to traffic Thursday afternoon due to a serious crash. The incident was reported around 3 p.m. and involved entrapment and fire.

The original report was for the intersection of Water and Miner streets but that proved inaccurate. The crash was soon after found along Route 209 atop the No. 11 Hill.

The crash drew a large number of police units from Carbon and Schuylkill counties including numerous state police.
