State Police at Stroudsburg
State police at the Stroudsburg barracks have released details on incidents:
• Police have issued an arrest warrant for an 18-year-old Stroudsburg woman who they said assaulted a 55-year-old woman from Stroudsburg in an incident that happened between midnight and 3:30 p.m. Oct. 2 at a property on Route 209 in Hamilton Township.
Police said the woman is charged with “assault-serious bodily injury.” They said she and the victim engaged in a dispute that escalated to a physical altercation regarding her living on the victim’s property.
• A 47-year-old Saylorsburg man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol filed against him.
They said they stopped him at the intersection of Route 115 and Faulstick Road in Hamilton Township at 6:03 p.m. Oct. 6.
• Police said a 31-year-old Mount Pocono man was found to be not in compliance with Megan’s Law requirements after they conducted a compliance check at 2730 Rimrock Drive, Hamilton Township.
Police said the “failure to comply” took place between Aug. 29 and Sept. 29. They said the compliance check is designed to verify the accuracy of Megan’s Law Offenders’ registration information.
The man was charged for not updating his information, police said.
• Police said a 64-year-old East Stroudsburg woman is the victim of a theft by deception/identity theft incident that they were called to at 12:27 a.m. Sept. 21 at a property on Rimrock Drive in Hamilton Township.
Police said someone opened two separate accounts through AT & T in the victim’s name. Police said the woman did not suffer any loss in the incident.
• Police are investigating the theft of a gold wedding band from the Shawnee Wyndham Vacation Resorts, Smithfield Township. Police said they were called to the resort at 3:02 p.m. Nov. 25. Through the investigation, they said, the victim discovered at 1:49 p.m. that she had lost the wedding band in the area of the resort’s swimming pool, to which she contacted staff personnel by telephone to report the loss. Shortly thereafter, police said the band was recovered by resort staff and in time they notified the victim that she could return to the establishment to retrieve her personal belonging.
Police said the band was placed on the desk in the employees’ quarters with a note to convey the victim would be returning to the resort of retrieve it. They said when the assistant manager of guest services for the facility returned to the desk where the wedding band was last seen, following her assistance to guests in the front lobby, she discovered the band had been stolen.
Police said it has the date 10/24/2008 etched in it, and is worth an estimated $1,000.
