State police at Fern Ridge
State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported on the following:
• Police received a ChildLine report at 1:39 p.m. Nov. 28 involving a 14-year-old girl from Saylorsburg.
They said the report contains concerns of an assault with bodily injuries that the girl sustained at a property on Whisperwood Court, Chestnuthill Township.
• A 23-year-old Saylorsburg man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop police made at 2 a.m. Nov. 26.
They stopped him in a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox for Motor Vehicle Code violations at the intersection of Log Mountain and Kreger roads in Polk Township.
• A 24-year-old man from Lancaster is facing DUI and drug possession charges after a traffic stop police made at 7:19 p.m. Nov. 25.
Police stopped him in a 2023 Dodge Durango for Motor Vehicle Code violations on Interstate 80 in Tobyhanna Township. They said he was found to be in possession of narcotics.
• A 19-year-old man from Kingston who was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for Motor Vehicle Code violations is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance.
Police stopped the 2023 Dodge Durango for a Motor Vehicle Code violation and seized narcotics from the passenger.
• A 21-year-old Brodheadsville man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop police made at 1 a.m. Nov. 25.
They stopped him in a 2013 Dodge Dart for Motor Vehicle Code violations at the intersection of Frantz Road and Rodenbach Lane in Chestnuthill Township.
• Police arrested a 22-year-old Tobyhanna Township man on charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a high-speed chase on Interstate 80 at 7:52 a.m. Nov. 24.
Police said they attempted to pull over a 2009 Volkswagen Passat for Motor Vehicle Code violations and the driver fled eastbound on the interstate. Police were able to halt him after about a six mile chase after which time police observed signs of impairment on the driver. He was transported to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville.
• A 33-year-old man from Saylorsburg was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop police made at 12:36 a.m. Nov. 23.
They stopped him in a 2010 Nissan Pathfinder for Motor Vehicle Code violations at the intersection of the Effort-Neola Road and Hillcrest Lane in Chestnuthill Township.
• A 55-year-old man from Bath is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance after a traffic stop police made at 9:37 p.m. Nov. 22.
He was stopped in a 1997 Ford F250 pickup for Motor Vehicle Code violations at the intersection of Fairground and Legion roads in Chestnuthill Township.
• Police are investigating a burglary that happened between Aug. 1, 2022, and 4:04 p.m. Nov. 28 at a property on Sky Line Drive in Chestnuthill Township.
They said it happened at a residence that was sold in a tax sale. A 65-year-old man from Albrightsville, told police he had two firearms within the residence when the sale took place.
Police said they contacted the current owner of the property, who stated the residence was unlocked at the time he purchased it. The current owner stated the contents of the house were emptied when he took ownership of the home and that he did not recover firearms within the residence.
Police said the last time the victim was at the residence and had firearms in his custody was an unknown date in Fall 2022.
The firearms are described as being Sturm, Ruger and Co. Southport models, one with a 10-round capacity and the other being a .44-magnum six-shot gun.
• Police charged two men, ages 49 and 68, both from Effort, with harassment by physical contact after they were called to an incident at 8:56 a.m. Nov. 28 at a property on Arlene Drive in Chestnuthill Township.
