Mrs. Santa entertained a captive audience of youngsters with her readings of Christmas stories on Friday at the Slatington Public Library.

While the Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce decided to hold its annual tree lighting ceremony virtually at Veterans Memorial Park on Main Street in Slatington because of inclement weather, Mrs. Santa gave the children something to look forward to with her readings, treats and gifts.

Lynne Fedorcha engaged the children as Mrs. Santa and she also serves as treasurer of the Slatington Public Library’s board of directors.

The library recently installed a new elevator and completed restoration of a skylight, two capital improvements that the board and staff worked to see to its completion.
