Identities released in Monroe shooting

The identities of a man and woman who died from gunshot wounds following an incident Tuesday night in Pocono Township have been released.

At 6:33 p.m., Pocono Township Police officers responded to a domestic in progress with a firearm involving a boyfriend and girlfriend at Ski Side Drive, Tannersville.

When officers arrived on scene, they found both parties had sustained gunshot wounds.

The man, identified as Kyle Campbell Worrell, 39, Tannersville, was pronounced dead on scene.

The woman, Leilani Ramos, 36, Tannersville, was later pronounced dead at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg.

At 8 a.m. Wednesday, autopsies were held for Ramos and Campbell-Worrell at the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.

Ramos’ cause of death was determined to be from multiple gunshot wounds, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.

Campbell-Worrell’s cause of death was determined to be from a gunshot wound to the head, and the manner of death was ruled a suicide.

This was an isolated domestic violence incident, and there is no threat to the public.

The investigation is ongoing regarding the motive.
