For the second year, Christkindl Market is returning to The Perla Building in Tamaqua.
The event features more than 35 vendors from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday for an indoor Small Business Saturday shopping extravaganza.
“We have a lot of unique artisans, crafters, small businesses and independent consultants,” said Lance Williams, marketing director. “Every one is offering unique and handcrafted goods. It’s a full array of anything you can imagine.”
Williams rattled off some of the items that will be available for purchase, including handcrafted candles, soaps, home décor, holiday gifts, Christmas ornaments, fresh greens and wreaths, sea glass and glass creations, woodworks, geodes and crystals. There will be homemade sweets, jams and jellies - even freeze dried candies and gummy kebabs.
Independent consultants from Tupperware, Thirty-One, Tastefully Simple, and Norwex will be on hand. In addition, Boy Scout Troop 624 of Orwigsburg will be offering food and beverages, with all proceeds supporting the troop. Hope & Coffee of Tamaqua will serve up coffee and other offerings.
“It’s a unique and festive indoor shopping experience and we are really happy to offer it so people don’t have to bear the cold,” Williams said, noting that shopping will be in the building’s banquet hall and gymnasium areas.
Planners would like to see the event boost sales at other local shops and restaurants.
“We’re really happy that we can bring this unique experience to the people of Tamaqua and kind of give them a one-stop shop, so they can take care of their holiday shopping even before December,” Williams said. “We’re also hoping that it will bring a lot of traffic to the Tamaqua area so that other businesses will benefit from it as well, and hopefully bring everyone here in Tamaqua a successful Small Business Saturday.”
