Christmas adventure ready for Nuremberg stage Dec. 8-10

Wrapping up its 40th year as the longest continually running nonprofit theater in the area, The Nuremberg Community Players at The Emerson Theater will present the holiday show “Christmas Is Here Again” on Dec. 8, 9 and 10.

Based on the 2007 animated Christmas musical-comedy-fantasy-adventure, the stage musical will be directed by Todd Statuto and assistant Dave Moses.

Sophiana is an orphan girl who sets out to find Santa’s toy sack, which was stolen 30 years ago by Krad in revenge after Santa stopped handing out Krad’s coal to naughty children. She is helped in her quest by Paul Rocco, one of Santa’s elves; Dart, a reindeer calf; Buster the fox; and his friend, Charlee the polar bear.

The Nuremberg Community Players will use new full stage scrim for some amazing effects in the show along with a few other surprises.

“Being a volunteer and a nonprofit community theater, we are starting to upgrade and slowly introduce new equipment and technology to do things on stage that we haven’t done before,” said Shawn Anderson, technical director. “We also have new members of the community helping us and are always excited to welcome anyone who would like to learn and be a part of our theater.”

Show dates and times are at 7 p.m. Dec. 8 and 9, and 3 p.m. Dec. 10. Reserved seating can be obtained by clicking the link at nurembergcommunityplayers.org; on Facebook @nurembergcp, or by calling 877-718-7894

The Emerson Theater is at 283 Hazle St., Nuremberg. “Christmas is Here Again” is presented by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing.
