State police at Fern Ridge
State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported on the following:
• Police were called to a property on Sassafras Road, Penn Forest Township, at 10:25 p.m. Oct. 24 for a simple assault of a 58-year-old man from Albrightsville.
• A 32-year-old Effort man reported a simple trespass case at 6:53 p.m. Oct. 30 at a property on Donalds Road in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said a suspect refused to leave the victim’s property after having his car repaired there.
• Police said a 2017 Chevrolet owned by a 64-year-old Bartonsville man was entered between 9 p.m. Nov. 3 and 7 a.m. Nov. 4 along Fernwood Avenue in Jackson Township.
Entry was made through an unlocked driver’s side door and someone took the man’s wallet from the side door panel. The wallet is valued at $25 and it contained the victim’s driver’s license and various credit and debit cards, police said.
• Police were called to Pleasant Valley High School, 1671 Route 209, Chestnuthill Township, at 11:08 a.m. Nov. 9 for a drug possession case.
They said charges are pending against a 15-year-old Saylorsburg boy who was found to be in possession of a vape pen on school property. Police said the pen contained a THC cartridge.
• A firearm was found in the area of the Dollar General store, Route 903, Penn Forest Township, according to a report police received from a person at 1:41 p.m. Nov. 10.
Police said anyone with information about the firearm should contact them at the barracks.
They listed the found property as a black magazine valued at $10; a Pelican 1500 case, $100; a gold lock, $10; a Colt Black Powder Co. joint operation with a Henry repeating Rifle and repeating arms, $100; and 16 .22-caliber bullets worth $10.
• An unknown vehicle fled the scene of a rear-end mishap at 3:25 p.m. Nov. 2 on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said the vehicle struck the rear of a 2021 Lincoln driven by Dawn Hallenbeck, 53, of Kunkletown, who was south on Route 209 and stopped in the lane due to traffic. The Lincoln sustained minor damages, police said.
The striking vehicle is described as being a blue small sedan.
• A Gilbert man was charged with harassment after police were dispatched at 8:59 p.m. Nov. 1 to East Stroudsburg. Police said the investigation showed the man engaged in a fight with a 42-year-old woman from Bartonsville at the intersection of Barrys Road and Bluegrass Lane in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said the man was located, charged and committed to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville.
• Police are investigating the theft of a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer from a property on Smith Hill Road in Jackson Township.
The theft was reported at 4:09 p.m. Nov. 7 by a 56-year-old man from Stroudsburg who said the vehicle was taken from his driveway. It bears the Pennsylvania registration CMPBLL.
• Alejandri A. Fernandez, 59, of Union City, New Jersey, was uninjured when a 2022 Honda CRV she was driving struck a deer at 7:55 a.m. Nov. 11.
Police said she was traveling west on Interstate 80 in Tunkhannock Township when the deer entered the path of the vehicle and was struck.
