An 86-year-old man was injured early Wednesday morning in a crash in Mahoning Township. He was traveling west on Route 443 around 5 a.m. when he drove onto the right berm, snapping off a utility pole. His vehicle ended up on the lawn of a home. Mahoning Valley fire company members extricated the man from the wreckage. He was treated at the scene by Mahoning Valley ambulance members and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a trauma center. State police at Lehighton are investigating.
