A director of operations, as well as a transportation coordinator, have been named in the Northern Lehigh School District.
The school board on Monday appointed Christopher Mann to the post at a salary of $95,000, effective Dec. 1.
Before that, the board accepted Mann’s resignation from his position as lead maintenance electrician and drinking water operator, effective at the end of the day on Nov. 30.
Superintendent Dr. Matthew Link welcomed Mann to the district’s administration team.
“I look forward to working with you in that role,” Link said.
Also on Monday, the board appointed Shawn Wanamaker as transportation coordinator, effective Dec. 1.
Before that, the board accepted Wanamaker’s resignation as administrative assistant to the director of support services, effective at the end of the day on Nov. 30.
Last month, the board accepted the retirement resignation of Greg Derr, director of support services, effective at the end of the day on Dec. 21.
Derr has been with the district for about 17 years.
Board President Mathias Green noted that Monday marked the final meeting for Derr.
“I appreciate all the opportunities that everyone’s given me,” Derr said. “I’m glad that we’ve made some decisions in the buildings and grounds department to give transportation to Mr. Wanamaker, and Mr. Mann will do a great job for the district in the director of operations position.”
Green thanked Derr for his service.
“I think I speak on behalf of the board when we all say you’ve done a fantastic job,” Green said.
