Fern Ridge - crashes
State police at Fern Ridge released details on area crashes:
• Daniel Marchesani II, 44, of Blakeslee, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 8:12 a.m. Oct. 13 on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township.
Police said he was driving a 2006 Toyota Rav4 eastbound when it struck a deer. The vehicle sustained heavy front-end damages and was towed from the scene.
• Two people were injured in a crash at 10:04 p.m. Oct. 14 on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.
Scott N. Goff, 50, of Mohrsville, the driver of the vehicle, was uninjured, but passengers Bradley T. Hockenbrock, 34, of Collegeville, and Kerstin B. Goff, 42, of Mohrsville, were hurt. Police said Hockenbrock sustained possible injuries and Goff was transported by personnel from the West End Community Ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg.
• Three people were injured in a crash at 7 p.m. Oct. 15 on Bartonsville Woods Road in Jackson Township.
Treated by personnel from the St. Luke’s Emergency and Transport Services, but not transported to a medical facility, were Daniel P. Markel III, 31, the driver of the vehicle, a 6-year-old boy from Albrightsville and Kayla B. Merkel, 32, of East Stroudsburg.
• Police said a school van struck a deer at 7:07 a.m. Oct. 17 on East Old Stage Road in Penn Forest Township. No one was injured in the incident. Police said damages were minor and the vehicle was able to be driven from the scene.
• No one was hurt in a three-vehicle crash at 12:48 p.m. Oct. 19 at the intersection of Route 940 and Centre Street in East Side Borough.
Involved in the incident were vehicles driven by Marielyn Ramirez, 20, of Hazleton, Shawn T. Prohaska, 56, of Mountain Top, and Elena Zota, 58, of White Haven.
• Camille I. Sandoval, 26, of Stroudsburg, had minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 12:18 a.m. Oct. 25 on Interstate 80 in Tobyhanna Township.
Police said she was transported by personnel from the Pocono Mountain Regional Emergency Medical Services to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Bartonsville.
Police said she was driving a 223 Toyota RAV4 eastbound when it struck a deer. The vehicle had disabling damages and was towed from the scene.
• Juan Urena, 63, of Hazleton, was uninjured when a 2022 Honda he was driving struck a deer at 10:44 p.m. Oct. 25 on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township. Donald S. Banner, 62, of Bloomfield, New Jersey, was uninjured when a 2021 Honda he was driving struck a deer at 9:56 p.m. Oct. 26 on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township.
Police said the vehicles sustained disabling damages and were towed from the scene.
• Two vehicles were involved in a crash at 8:41 a.m. Oct. 28 on Sugar Hollow Road n Chestnuthill Township. No one was injured. The drivers were Richard A. Stpetery, 41, of Thorofare, New Jersey, who was driving a 2019 Mack Truck, and Brian J. Joseph, 26, of Effort, who was operating a 2015 GMC Denali. No other details were given.
• Police said Ardita Btaha, 27, of Lebanon, New Jersey, who was a passenger in a crash at 5:20 p.m. Oct. 28 on Hillcrest Drive in Chestnuthill Township, was transported by personnel from the West End Community Ambulance to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Stroudsburg.
The vehicle was driven by Ilmi Btaha, 32, of Wayne, New Jersey, who was uninjured, as was another passenger a baby who was in a booster seat.
• Michael D. Lieberman, 58, of Dresher, was uninjured when a 2019 Land Rover he was driving struck a deer at 1:22 p.m. Oct. 29 on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township. Police said the vehicle sustained disabling damages and was towed from the scene.
• Two passengers in a rear-end crash at 12:33 p.m. Nov. 3 on Interstate 80 in Tobyhanna Township were injured.
Police said a 2002 Nissan Pathfinder driven by Reginald Jackson, 60, of Brooklyn, New York, struck a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by Maureen K. Detweiler, 57, of Lake Harmony.
Ronald Green, 57, of Pearl River, New York, who was a passenger with Jackson, was treated for minor injuries by personnel from the Pocono Mountain Regional Emergency Services but did not require a medical transport.
Shelby M. Detweiler, 21, of Lake Harmony, who was in the Grand Cherokee, sustained unknown injuries, police said, and was transported by the Pocono Mountain Regional Emergency Services to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Bartonsville. The drivers were uninjured, police said.
