Yarn Tuesdays

Knitters and crocheters of every skill level are welcome, with a special invitation to beginners, to participate in Yarn Tuesdays, held at 6 p.m. through Dec. 12.

Participants may bring their own materials or use the yarn, needles, and hooks provided.

Attend one, several, or all sessions for a single $15 donation. Light refreshments provided.

Creepy Crawlers

The next Creepy Crawlers will be held Nov. 20 and Dec. 11 from 10-11:30 a.m.

This program offers age-appropriate activities for all 2, 3, and 4-year-olds, with a different nature-related theme each month. November’s session is “Thankful for Turkeys,” followed by “Very Crafty” in December.

Creepy Crawlers is free for all CCEEC members. A $5 donation per child is requested of non-members.

Soap Making

Learn the art of handmade soap through the “melt and pour” method, choosing your own oils, natural fragrances, and colors during a soap making presentation at 10 a.m. on Dec. 9. Participants will leave the program with three to four bars to take home.

All materials are supplied for a $25 fee. Adults only, please.

Holiday Crafts

Wednesday, Dec. 13, 6-8 p.m.

A variety of materials are supplied at this annual event, including natural items such as holly berries and evergreen boughs, with plenty to inspire creativity.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own craft supplies to use or share, such as ribbon, candles, and small decorations.

Children are welcome to join in the fun with simple painting and stamping activities. A $5 per-adult donation is requested.

Geminid Meteor Showers

Retired PSU biology professor and night-sky enthusiast Dr. Carl Frankel guides a look at stars and planets, on a night that promises more meteor sightings than any other in the season.

The Geminid Meteor Showers viewing will take place at 6 p.m. on Dec. 14.

The session begins with an introduction indoors, then participants head out to the parking lot for a look up. Wear your PJs, bring a blanket, and enjoy some cookies and hot chocolate.

All ages and interest levels are invited to attend. Rain or clouds will postpone the event until a later date. Be sure to register so you can be notified of changes to the schedule.
