Lehighton Borough Council, on a 6-0 vote, took the following action on Monday:
• Discussed, but not take any action on the sale of five borough-owned empty parcels after receiving an estimate of $1,250. The properties include two on Millway Street, one on First Street, one on Fourth Street, and one on Penn Street.
• Denied a request from Bowmanstown Borough to rent Lehighton Borough’s leaf vac truck and two men pending signing of a damage waiver.
• Tabled discussion of possible sweeps until new sweeper grant is awarded/unapproved.
• Tabled discussion on changes to the sewer ordinance amendment to include fat, oil, and grease accumulation.
• Approved the proposal from Hutchinson, Gillahan & Freeh for the 2023 audit.
• Hired Virginia Borhi as a crossing guard pending passing of pre-employment process.
• Appointed Brandon Johnson to the borough’s fire police.
• Adopted a resolution and accompanying agreement for the AMP Am2023 EPPG Power Pool Participant Schedule.
• Approved the 2024 pool prices.
