A 40-year-old Hellertown woman died in a one-vehicle crash at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday on Route 33 in Bethlehem Township.

State police at the Belfast barracks said Surmaliz Valentin Ramos, died in the crash.

She was transported from the scene to St. Luke’s Hospital, Anderson Campus, Bethlehem, where she later died, according to Northampton County Coroner Zachary R. Lysek. He said the cause of death was multiple blunt force Injuries.

Police said she was driving a 2014 Toyota Scion northbound at a high rate of speed when she lost control of the vehicle. It left the roadway and struck an embankment and trees.

The vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.
