One person was injured Wednesday afternoon in a crash in Tamaqua. The incident occurred at 1:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Route 309 at the intersection with Owl Creek Road involving two pickup trucks.

One of the two vehicles came to rest face down in a ditch. That driver was injured and treated by members of the Tamaqua ambulance before being transported to a nearby trauma center.

The Citizens and South Ward fire companies as well as the Tamaqua Rescue Squad were dispatched to the scene. Tamaqua fire police maintained traffic control at the scene.

Tamaqua police are investigating the incident.
