The campaign to raise $4,000 in Summit Hill to purchase its Little League field and other town lots from the Blue Ridge Real Estate Company so far netted $1,715.40, according to a report released this morning.

Joseph Carnish, president of the Summit Hill Little League, said the figure falls short of expectations and that support is needed from those who were missed in the door-to-door campaign.

During the past two weeks, volunteers from the Little League called on every home in the community, asking for at least a $2 donation from each family.

Several other town lots included in the package deal will be sold by the association once it buys the land, and the money will be used to carry on the program.
