Here are the nominations for the Times News/Lehigh Valley Health Network Athlete of the Week.

The poll will go live on the Times News Lehighton Sports Facebook page with the following list of candidates today, and close tomorrow at 3 p.m. with the winner determined by the most votes received.

The winner will be featured in Wednesday’s paper.

Albin Petschauer, Marian Cross Country - Petschauer closed out his high school cross country career with his first state medal, placing 25th in the Class 1A race with a time of 17:17 at the PIAA Cross Country Championships Saturday for the Colts, who also qualified as a team.

Jake Van Lierop, Northwestern Boys Soccer - Van Lierop scored the go-ahead goal in the second half in the Tigers’ 2-0 win over Allentown Central Catholic in the District 11 2A semifinals Tuesday where he reached 100 career points, and added an assist in the Tigers’ 3-1 win over Blue Mountain in the final Thursday.

Brook Balliet, Northwestern Girls Soccer ­- Balliet scored twice and had two assists as the Tigers rolled past Saucon Valley 7-0 in the District 11 2A semifinals Tuesday. She had the decisive goal to help Northwestern top Central Catholic 1-0 in the final on Thursday

Olivia Costa, Northwestern Field Hockey - Costa scored twice in the Tigers’ 3-2 overtime win in the District 11 Class 1A final against Palmerton on Thursday. She had the game-winner just over two minutes into OT, and scored her first goal to tie it at 2-2 in the third quarter.
