Letter to the Editor: Supports Lux for county controller

On Election Day, my Sharpie will be filling in the oval for Sam Lux, candidate for controller. Sam’s background in the private sector, to include years assisting counties across the U.S. implement long-term budget planning is exactly what Carbon County needs. I suspect we all agree we need less politicians in public office and more technical experts who’ve applied best practices and for our benefit can translate, transition, and implement them in county government. Sam is that expert - he can and he will. His public financial management experience bolstered by his foundational degree in finance, assures me he’ll make a measurable and visible difference from Day 1. In both private and public conversations with me, to include a publicly broadcasted live-streaming interview (https://tinyurl.com/233jx37d), Sam has demonstrated a strong knowledge of the role of the controller and importantly laid out a viable vision to maximize the current knowledge and expertise of the office’s talented staff and implement time and ultimately money saving technology when and where it makes sense. Sam is the real deal, and if I were not 100% sure he is the best candidate hands down, neither my current title nor my name would I risk tainting. I stand confidently with my fellow commissioner and colleague across the political aisle and fully support and personally endorse Sam Lux for county controller. Feel free to give me a call at (570) 503-6780, and I’ll be happy to discuss all the qualities I see in Sam and how they will positively impact us as residents of Carbon County. See you at the polls. Vote Sam Lux.
