Letter to the Editor: Supports Dodson for magisterial district judge

Beth (Dodson) and I first met in the late 1990s when she was working at the video store in Lansford. We later became co-workers at the Sports Zoo, where she bartended to pay her living expenses in college. Our working relationship turned into a 20-plus year friendship.

Beth is the kind of trustworthy and reliable friend that we all hope to have. She may not always tell you what you want to hear, but what she will do - consistently - is analyze all angles of a situation and provide you with perspective sound advice. She is one of the smartest people I know, and she never stops learning and bettering herself. Beth truly is a student of life. She always has something interesting to discuss and is willing to share her knowledge and experiences with anyone who wants to learn.

When Beth was working as an attorney out in Pittsburgh, I went out to visit her for a week while she was in the middle of a very high-profile federal jury trial of a public figure. I was able to be in the courtroom and then talk to her after each day of court. This was such an exciting and eye-opening experience. She was so invested in her client and his case that she worked way past the time when I was asleep and was up and in the office every morning before court. Her passion and energy was contagious.

I know, if elected, Beth with be a fair and unbiased judge because that is how she has always been. She is very nonjudgmental and open minded and I think those are very important qualities for a judge to have. I will be voting for Beth on Nov. 7, and I ask that you please do the same.
