October 31, 1983 - Panther Valley’s volleyball team sweeps Pottsville 15-3, 16-4 to clinch the Schuylkill League championship and finish the regular season undefeated at 22-0. Gina Uher delivers eight kills in the opening game, while Joanna Paluck comes through with five. Both players also add an ace. In the second game, Susie Gerber and Karen Barna each collect a pair of aces for PV, coached by Anita Herman. Uher and Paluck dominate at the net again, as both finish the second set with seven kills. The league title is the Panthers’ sixth straight.
