Letter to the Editor: Supports Dodson for Magisterial District Justice

As the Register of Wills/Clerk of the Orphan’s Court, I regularly work with attorneys and judges in Carbon County. I write today to explain why I have formally endorsed Attorney Beth Dodson for Magisterial District Judge for the district court in Lansford. This district covers the municipalities of East Penn Township, Lansford, Mahoning Township, Nesquehoning, and Summit Hill.

Beth comes from a great family, is an upstanding member of the community, and has the professional training and experience in the law necessary to be a great district judge. Her strong work ethic makes her more than capable of discharging the duties of a district judge. She has put in an immense amount of time and effort into her campaign while still running her own law practice, volunteering and participating in community activities, maintaining her homestead, caring for her three dogs, and helping her family with some extenuating challenges.

Beth’s personality lends itself to the role of district judge. I have watched her hold meaningful conversations with people of all ages and walks of life. She is genuinely interested in what people have to say, is a good listener, and adds value to each conversation, regardless of the topic. I also have accompanied her to social events where she has met a many new people. One relevant pattern I noticed is Beth’s natural tendency is to approach everyone and everything with an open-mind. She never prejudges people or circumstances and when talking with her after the fact, I sense that her intuition is spot-on.

It is for these reasons, as well as the ones I stated in my letter in support of her printed back in May 2023, that I am supporting Attorney Dodson for Magisterial District Judge and I ask that you do the same.
