The Tamaqua Public Library recently honored Gloria M. Sterusky of 308 W. Front St., Lansford, for her years of service as head librarian at a dinner held at the Viennese Villa, Coaldale.
Sterusky became the head librarian there on April 16, 1985, and retired earlier this year.
She graduated from Trinity College, Washington, D.C., with a bachelor’s degree in education and from Villanova University with a master’s degree in library science.
Before coming to Tamaqua, she was a teacher in Maryland and librarian at St. Mark High School, Wilmington, Delaware.
