October 24, 1981 - Wayne Stehle and Mark Coury both gain over 100 yards rushing as Marian pulls away from West Hazleton for a 33-0 victory. Stehle carries 16 times for 127 yards and two touchdowns, opening the game’s scoring with a 7-yard run in the first quarter. Coury gets a bulk of his yardage on a 67-yard third-quarter tally and finishes with 112 yards on 12 attempts. Quarterback Bernie Shimkus, who replaces starter Mike Kmetz after leaving during the first series due to an injury, directs the offense and also throws a 24-yard TD toss to Dave Newton. Stehle adds a 1-yard scoring run, while Dave Angelo also reaches the end zone from five yards out.
