State police at Frackville

State police at the Frackville barracks reported on the following incidents:

• Carl Upshaw, 45, of McAdoo, is facing a charge of harassment by physical contact after police were called to a property on Bayview Avenue in Kline Township, at midnight Oct. 10.

The victim is a 19-year-old woman from McAdoo who reported Upshaw struck and shoved her.

• Wayne M. Gerhard, 50, of Weatherly, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a crash at 5:43 p.m. Oct. 16 on Ben Titus Road in Rush Township. He was uninjured.

Police said he was driving a 2018 Dodge Ram truck eastbound when it veered off the roadway onto the shoulder of the road and traveled into a large grass field located just west of a residence at 48 Ben Titus Road. Police said the truck traveled about 40 yards east, approaching the residence, simultaneously striking two parked vehicles, a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu and a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt, that were located in the driveway of the residence.

Police said the truck continued about five yards before striking the west side/foundation of the home before coming to a half.

Police said all three vehicles were towed from the scene.

Gerhard, who was also cited for the crash was transported to an area hospital for chemical testing, police said.

• Thomas Bechtel, 52, of Shenandoah, is being charged for driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia after police conducted a traffic stop at 2:15 a.m. Sept. 16 at the intersection of West Center Street and Golden Bear Drive in West Mahanoy Township.

Police said he was driving a 2013 Kia Sorento when he was stopped.
