Restaurants helping to fight hunger

Two Tamaqua area restaurants are participating in the Tamaqua Community Hunger Campaign’s “Dine Out Against Hunger Day” Wednesday.

The Beacon Diner in Hometown and Tommy’s Italian Specialty Shop will donate a portion of their proceeds from that day to the hunger campaign. All Tamaqua area restaurants were invited to participate in the project.

The Station Restaurant is participating by donating 20 quarts of its chicken quesadilla soup to the online community soup sale. Soup can be purchased online until Sunday at Hope & Coffee or at https://order.toasttab.com/online/hope-coffee-137-pine-st.

Other soups from restaurants and church organizations are also available. Orders can be made in person at Hope & Coffee or on Hope & Coffee’s website during regular business hours. The final day to order soups is Sunday.

Soup pick up is Saturday, Nov. 4 at Trinity UCC in Tamaqua from 9 a.m. to noon. Soup sales benefit the food pantries in Tamaqua serving more than 350 families a month. For more information about the 2023 Tamaqua Community Hunger Capaign visit https://tamaquahunger.tacp.info/
