State police at Fogelsville

State police at Fogelsville reported on the following incidents:

• Police said a counterfeit $100 bill was found at the Sheetz gas station on Golden Key Road, Weisenberg Township.

Police were called there at 11:08 a.m. Oct. 3 and were told the bill was passed by an unknown person at an unknown time. The bill was confiscated pending further investigating.

• A 60-year-old woman from Macungie was “scammed” out of $180 while trying to purchase Penn State football tickets on Facebook, police said.

Police were summoned at 9:40 a.m. Sept. 20 to a property on Fieldview Drive, Lower Macungie Township, where the woman related the details of the theft by deception incident.

• Police said a 67-year-old woman from Orefield is the victim of a theft that happened by a “check washing” incident. It happened between midnight Oct. 8 and 11:31 a.m. Oct. 14. The woman who resided along Skytop Court, Lowhill Township, told police someone “washed” the check for $2.90, altering it to $2,800.90.
