Kathy Gieniec, chair of the Summit Hill Recreation Commission, said the next few months will be busy for the group.
The commission members are planning special events for Halloween and Christmas.
In addition, a special gardening program for youngsters is being offered.
First on the agenda is a cupcake decorating event at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Hilltop Community Center. A fee is charged and participants should bring their own spatula and icing, Gieniec said. Other items will be provided.
The annual Christmas on the Hill will be special this year.
Among the things planned are free trolley rides before the tree lighting on Dec. 3. The trolley rides will need the approval of the borough council, which is expected at next month’s meeting. The council said it couldn’t approve the rides this month because they weren’t included on the meeting agenda.
Also, at the Christmas on the Hill, candy will be given to the youngsters who attend.
Santa will arrive on a firetruck.
The gardening program for youngsters will be held on from 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 4 and 18, from 10 a.m. to noon, in the Summit Hill Heritage Center. The program will highlight planning fall items including flowers.
