Monroe County crashes
State police at Stroudsburg reported the following:
• Charles King, 74, of Henryville, sustained suspected minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 8:22 a.m. Sept. 14 at the intersection of Paradise Valley and Browns Hill roads in Paradise Township.
Police said he was transferred by personnel from the Pocono Mountain Regional Emergency Medical Services to a Lehigh Valley hospital after the crash.
Police said he was driving a Volkswagen Touareg that stopped at the intersection and attempted to make a left turn onto Paradise Valley Road when it was struck by a Dodge Ram 3500 driven by Robert D. McKane, 32, of Gilbert. He was uninjured.
King was cited for the crash.
• Gualberto Rosario Jr., 47, of Kunkletown, was cited after a Ford Escape he was driving sideswiped a car Sept. 25.
Police said it happened when Rosario struck a Ford Explorer operated by Paul T. Figas, 29, of Stroudsburg, which was a marked state police vehicle positioned partially in the northbound lane to protect a tow truck operator who responded to remove a disabled vehicle. .
No one was injured in the incident. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
• Elias Turbi Santamaria, 18, of East Stroudsburg, was cited for a “stop sign and yield sign” violation after a mishap at 8:07 p.m. Sept. 19 at the intersection of Route 209 and Greenview Drive in Hamilton Township.
Police said he was operating a 2013 Nissan Altima the entered the intersection in front of a 2023 Jeep Wrangler driven by Samantha M. Bauer, 31, of Effort, causing the collision.
No one was injured in the incident.
• Nettie J. Stewart, 80, of Sciota, escaped injuries in a mishap at 3:15 p.m. Oct. 1 on Route 209 in Hamilton Township.
Police said she was driving a Honda Civic north when she lost control of the vehicle. It struck a ditch on the right side of the road. Police said the car sustained disabling front-end damages and was towed from the scene.
• Rachel Nussbaum, 70, of Toronto, Canada, was cited after a crash at 5:58 p.m. Sept. 27 on Route 209 in Hamilton Township.
Police said she was driving a Hyundai Santa Fe southbound on Beaver Valley Road that failed to yield at the stop sign to oncoming traffic and was struck by a Hyundai Elantra driven by Daniel Vito, 33, of East Stroudsburg. Police said the impact caused the Elantra to exit the highway and strike a guide rail.
Police said Vito was injured in the incident but police did not know the extent of his injuries.
