Richard E. Fasching was elevated to the position of secretary-business manager in the Palmerton Area School District when the board met last night in the middle school library.

Fasching has been serving as assistant business manager in the district for the past 3-1/2 years and as acting secretary since the death of Wilbur Gaumer last January 11.

The new business manager and his wife, Trudie, reside on Lafayette Avenue in Palmerton, along with a daughter Connie, 6, and a son Rich, 3.
