A home was heavily damaged by fire Friday evening in Delano Township just west of the village of Quakake. The fire was reported around 5:45 p.m. as smoke showing from the basement and second floor of the two and one half story single family dwelling.

When fire companies arrived they found flames throughout the home with heavy flames climbing up the rear. The fire went to a second alarm.

Fire companies from the area responded to the scene. The fire was declared under control at 6:39 p.m.
