Bowmanstown Borough Council took the following action last week:

• Agreed to use a $2,443 medical loss ratio rebate check the borough received to help offset premiums for the next year to the employees that were covered.

• Approved a new three-year contract with Portland Contractors, the borough’s water/sewer treatment contractor, which calls for a slight increase in years one and two, and no increase in the third year. The certified operator cost is going up next year by $5, the second year goes up $5, then the third year remains the same. Portland Contractors is the backup operator for the sewer, as Chris Bixler is the full time certified operator.
