Tamaqua Seniors
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Oct. 5 with 27 members in attendance. The meeting was opened with the reading “Anticipation.”
Gladys Arner was added to the sick list. Fall decoration winners were Doris Brobst and Roberta Hollenbach. A Chinese auction is scheduled for Nov. 9.
Blessing of the Animals
Zion Lutheran Church will hold a special service for the blessing of the animals on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Pets may include dogs, cats, fish and birds. You may bring photos of your pet if it is difficult to bring the pet in person. The service will be indoors, so pet owners are asked to have their animal friends secured by leash or carrier. The service will be webcast on the church’s web page and Facebook page.
Zion Lewistown
Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday at Zion Church Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
Dress casually for church this Sunday. There will be food and desserts available in the social hall after the service, followed by a hayride, pumpkin painting and games.

Calvary Lewistown
Calvary Evangelical Church, Lewistown Valley will hold their Sunday school Rally Day program this Sunday at 10:30 a.m. There will be puppets, skits and music. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. The 6:30 p.m. evening service will feature the Seger Family, country gospel singers from the Shamokin area.
Oct. 18 prayer and share at 7 p.m.
Halupki Sale
Zion Lutheran’s Culinary Ministry team is offering homemade halupkis. You can order on the Zion Facebook page or by calling 570-668-4451. Orders must be placed by Sunday. Pick up will be Thursday, Oct. 19, noon-3 p.m.
