Palmerton’s 32nd Halloween parade scheduled for Sunday

The 32nd annual Palmerton Halloween Parade is 4 p.m. Sunday. Rain date is 7 p.m. Monday.

Sponsored by the Palmerton Area Chamber of Commerce, the parade will form around 2:30 p.m. at the Seventh Street and Franklin Avenue area.

It will proceed up Seventh Street to Lafayette, where it will turn down Lafayette Avenue to Second Street. It will then make a left on Second Street to Franklin Avenue, where it will turn left onto Delaware Avenue, and return to Seventh Street.

Parade chairperson Susie Arner said that participants must check in at Seventh Street and Delaware Avenue on the day of the parade.

Arner said it will be a four-division parade.

“Many of the crowd favorites are returning, and we look forward to seeing what creativity they have this year,” Arner said. “The PHS (Palmerton High School) Marching Band will be in the front of the parade, and we are so happy to have them join us as the band is growing and excelling in its performances.”

Arner said canned goods/nonperishables are being accepted from spectators - there will be members of the Palmerton Area High School Leo Club who will walk along with grocery carts to collect the food.

“Many fire trucks will end the parade with lots of candy for young and old alike,” she said. “Scouts, booster club, churches, and businesses have all joined the fun and registered for the parade to delight everyone for a fun afternoon in Palmerton.”

Arner offered special thanks to the Palmerton Chamber of Commerce for sponsoring the event.

She said late entries and additional sponsors may call 484-522-8899.
